Hello everyone, Im Nilgun, Director of Lighthouse Community Group. At LCG we lead with heart, lived experience, and a deep commitment to providing support that is personal, thoughtful, and genuinely impactful. Before stepping into the disability support sector, I worked as a Turkish translator for over 4 years, supporting individuals and families in navigating complex systems and services. This role deepened my cultural understanding and my ability to advocate for people who often go unheard — something that still shapes the way I work today. My journey with the NDIS began when the scheme first launched, not as a provider, but as a mother. Navigating the system for my daughter gave me an intimate understanding of the challenges families face — and the kind of care they genuinely need. That experience became my ‘why’ — and it continues to shape the way I support others today. I believe in care that is: • Culturally sensitive • Person-centred • Consistent, compassionate, and responsive I work closely with participants, families, support coordinators, and allied professionals to create outcomes that align with each individual’s goals and lived reality. I believe that when care comes from understanding, it changes lives.
